When I asked for advice in poetry
Sherman Alexie said to me
“In Pittsburgh, there’s but one choice
For presentation, style and voice”
(And this is a relief, it seems to me
For if the standard of poetry tonight
Sinks any lower,
It risks irreparable injury)
